Using Back9

You may use Back9 to create, join, or watch a golf round; enter scores; update Bingo boards; and generate a shareable scorecard. No account is required, but Back9 creates an anonymous session so it can apply room permissions.

You are responsible for the display names, scores, and other information you enter and for sharing room codes only with people you intend to invite.

Acceptable use

You may not:

• use Back9 for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or harassing activity;
• impersonate someone or submit information you have no right to use;
• probe, disrupt, overload, or bypass the service’s security or rate limits;
• use automated access in a way that interferes with other users or the service.

Scores and golf decisions

Back9 is an informal social scorecard. It is not an official tournament system, handicap service, rules authority, emergency service, or substitute for a golf course’s rules and safety instructions. Players are responsible for checking scores and making their own decisions on the course.

Your content

You keep ownership of information you enter. You give Back9 permission to process and display it only as needed to operate the room, synchronize the group, generate a scorecard, protect the service, and comply with law. Room participants can see and may capture or share information shown in the room.

Temporary rooms

Rooms expire automatically and are not permanent records. Save any scorecard you want to keep before the room expires. Back9 may also restrict or remove access when necessary to protect the service, comply with law, or address misuse.

Third-party services and course data

Back9 depends on third-party hosting, database, API, and golf course data providers. Their services and data may change, become unavailable, or contain errors. Course names, locations, pars, yardages, and scorecards should be confirmed with the golf course when accuracy matters.

Availability and warranties

Back9 is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, no warranty is made that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that third-party course data will be complete or accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Leonard Lacson will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from Back9, including lost scores, unavailable rooms, inaccurate course data, or decisions made on the course. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Changes

Back9 and these terms may change over time. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled by the courts located in Ontario unless applicable law requires otherwise.
